The Jungle
The Jungle “Welcome to the jungle, we got fun and games. We got everything you want, as long as we know the name. We are the people who can find, whatever you may need….”
Established in 1989, The Jungle is a private detective agency, set up in the downtown area, run by Jonas Morgan and Kyle Runner. Advertising exclusively through ads in small local magazines and word of mouth, the business is small time on mortal radars. And that’s how the owners want it.
Checkers Pizza
The Jungle is based in an apartment above a take-out pizza place, Checkers Pizza. Checkers usually opens early evening, around the same time The Jungle does. It’s never very busy but seems to do well enough and is run by an Italian-American couple in their early fifties, Mr and Mrs Dirisio. As well as pizza, they serve some of them more common Italian dishes. They are used to directing strangers upstairs and do so with a smile. They are aware it is a detective agency and sometimes chat with either of the detectives when they are passing but know nothing else.
The Waiting Room
After going through a side door and up a narrow, creaky flight of stairs, clients reach the waiting room. It’s a small room with a tiny window high in one wall, no furniture except some mismatched chairs and a sofa, some wall-mounted speakers and a security camera in one corner facing the door. The speakers play ‘Guns N Roses – The Jungle’ continuously at high volume and have done since the business was started (except for 3 months in 1992 when they played ‘Clannad – I Will Find you’. There’s a notice pinned to the wall stating this will never happen again). Because of this, the walls are completely soundproof. On the wall next to a door is a sign reading ‘Do Not Knock. Come Inside When Buzzer Sounds’.
The Jungle Office
The actual office is through the waiting room door. Opposite the door is Jonas’ desk and next to the door, hidden as it opens, is Kyle’s. The floor is bare floorboards and the walls are painted white. A large window looks out into the street. Most of the dim light comes from a single light in the middle of the room. Both desks have computers and a monitor (linked to the camera in the waiting room). Behind Jonas, the wall is almost covered in city maps of various scales, with careful markings in red. Behind Kyle are three metal filing cabinets in the traditional style for detective agencies, one top of one sits a CD player apparently linked to the speakers in the waiting room. There’s also a third desk, completely empty.
The Detectives
Jonas Morgan – A Caucasian man apparently in his late twenties, below average height, slightly overweight build with brown hair and eyes. Jonas usually wears a suit and is the brains of the outfit, making notes, finalising payments and conditions. He comes across as not too confident but cheerful and professional and is usually the first detective clients see. He is also a vampire of the Lynx bloodline.
Kyle Runner – A half-Native American, half-Caucasian man in his late twenties, above average height with an athletic build, dark brown hair and eyes. Kyle wears jeans and a fedora hat. Whether he wears anything else varies based on his mood. Quite clearly the brawn of the outfit, he makes up for Jonas’ lack of confidence by being overconfident and cocky. Where Jonas’ is professional, Kyle is not. He’s generally the one asking questions and his questions are tactful or blunt depending on what he feels about the client. He’s nearly always wearing a slightly unnerving grin. He is also a vampire of the Bohagande bloodline.
There might once have been a third detective but they don’t talk about it. She might’ve been a Mage and might’ve been a relative of the Dirisios but as has been mentioned, they DON’T talk about it.
The Business
The services on offer are simple. Clients tell them who or what they need found and the detectives do so. Prices are based on how difficult it seems, money paid up front. Rescuing or retrieving the target costs extra. Any important details about the job that the client ‘neglects to mention’ result in further payment (of one kind or another). As a rule, they refuse to kill as part of a job as it makes things messy.
The Jungle mostly deals with kindred or mortals. Mages occasionally acquire their help too. One or two Changelings have used their services in the past but as far as the Detectives are aware, these were odd mortals with very odd jobs.
Finally, Jonas’ and Kyle will both protect the Dirisios if anyone tries to interfere with them, though this remains an unspoken rule.

I'm not going to give stats or backgrounds to the detectives just yet so as rough guides, they're not starting characters. Jonas favours mental then social attributes, most likely has Web 3, high investigation and otherwise favours Auspex. Kyle favours physical then social, probably has high investigation too and a wider range of disciplines than just his bloodline ones, maybe a covenant's (or more than one) but at least some Sunnikuse. Jonas is humanity 7 or more and Kyle is humanity 6 or more.
