Vampire

The message was simple. Delivered in a plain white envelope, written in blue ink. Follow the white rabbit. Not too specific, of course, but you already figured it was going to be more of a ‘Don’t find me, I’ll find you’-thing. So you simply went out for a little walk, waiting for something to happen. You didn’t think the message would turn out to be that literal, though.
You found the bunny in the backyard of a rave club; one of your usual feeding places. The little guy had just been sitting there, staring at you with those pale red eyes. When you approached him he darted away, stopping at the end of the alley, as if daring you to follow him. Well, you did.
Now, following the white rabbit like some Disney princess, you’re making your way towards a small playground. You haven’t been here since your breathing days; not much to do here in the dark. But this night one of the swings is occupied. You feel it before you even spot her; the Beast in you roars as it senses a challenger. Fighting back the urge to run and hide, you hesitate.
She looks just like she’s been described to you, like the twisted parody of a schoolgirl from the Victorian Age. Her dress – all frill and lace and petticoats – is just short enough to show a hint of thigh over her white silken stockings. Even her face looks strange to you. She has obviously been Embraced during her pubescent years, so while she has the body of a teenaged girl, her face still has an odd childlike quality to it; an impression that’s only enhanced by golden ringlets and satin ribbons.
The bunny gives you a look – whether indifferent or mocking, it’s hard to tell – and jumps into her lap, starting to nibble at something. As she gives you an inviting smile you slowly approach her. You even manage not to flinch as you notice just what she is feeding to that rabbit…

Background

This Daeva who goes by the name of Alice leads a somewhat nomadic Requiem – at least by Kindred standards. Every five to ten years she leaves town to settle somewhere else, mostly out of boredom which ultimately leads to trouble.
She spends her nights watching and delicately shaping the humans around her – an occupation that is both an art and a business to her. Many an elder finds that paying Alice a small boon for arranging an unruly thrall to be killed in a domestic fight beats having him disappeared in a more suspicious manner. On the other hand she enjoys setting up just that purely for her personal entertainment, too.
She usually keeps a haven in a building that serves as gathering point for a human commune to serve as her private theatre, to host her dramas and tragedies. And as time moves on and her control over her chosen community – be it a gang, a law firm or the inhabitants of an apartment building – grows more thorough, she tends to get caught in more and more complicated and ultimately more destructive settings. Few are the communities that survive her dabbling. Once her playthings have run their course she will leave town to start over somewhere else – sometimes with a bit of encouragement by the local Prince.
Her manipulations are subtle, elaborate and sometimes – due to an unfortunate obsession with fairy tales – downright bizarre. One of her little schemes ended with a woman getting killed by being shoved into her own oven, and in a city near the east coast the Primogen still shudder upon remembering the ‘Big Bad Wolf Incident’. This – how to put it – fascination with the darker side of children’s stories becomes obvious in her appearance as well. On the first glance she seems to be a darker version of the original Alice, complete with an albino rabbit that... Ah, let us just say you wouldn’t want to let your children pat the little guy.

Alice's Devotion: Jabberwocky

Requirements: Majesty 2, Ofuscate 4
Their blurred reflection has always been a bit of a difficulty for Kindred, but many have learned to overcome it by the power of their cursed blood, creating the illusion of a proper mirror image. Using the power of this devotion, a vampire can twist her image even further. Thus she can appear in a mirror as a monstrous creature, a drowned corpse or even a creature of eerie beauty. She may or may not use Ofuscate to hide herself while doing so. Jabberwocky doesn’t allow the vampire to fool cameras or other recording devices, however.
